During the last 10 years Jim Mays has settled over NZ$300Million in real estate. In his entire real estate career, he's now sold one billion dollars worth of property. He still holds the record sales price for a residential property at $12.78M.

Jim Mays began to make his mark on the real estate world when working in the Bay of Islands for a number of years where he rapidly accrued a portfolio of major tourism related properties. He then moved back to Auckland to work with two major realty firms.

His success brought him to the attention of John Bayley at Bayleys Real Estate. Jim was lured by Bayleys and established Bayleys Waterfront (Special Projects Division). His work saw him travelling the length and breadth of New Zealand and the South Pacific almost every day to broker deals for exclusive waterfront properties, retreats, lodges, islands and resorts.

Having achieved what he set out to do, Jim eventually stepped aside from this high pressure world to enjoy working mainly on Auckland's North Shore. Still specialising in top end and mainly waterfront properties, he continues to make headlines and sells more top-end property than most.
