Real estate is all about networking, Marleen Ohms of Professionals Osborne Realty in Waiuku says.
"I'm a social butterfly. I enjoy networking and getting out there meeting people".
Marleen, who has been in real estate for two years, is friendly and very easy to talk to. She believes her South Island background has probably contributed to her bright personality.

One of Marleen's clients, Deb Benschop, says Marleen's outgoing nature does not get in the way of her professionalism. "She has a very professional caring approach and works quickly and efficiently," Deb says.

Another client, Suzanne Robertson, can also testify to Marleen's efficiency. "After only two weeks of having my property listed with Marleen, she had managed to get me not one, but two contracts - remarkable!"

Marleen has lived in Waiuku for 15 years, has been married for nearly 10 years and has three children aged nine, seven and four years. She enjoys traveling and loves the V8 Supercars, especially the Holdens!

Starting her career with another estate agent, Marleen moved to Professionals because she liked the teamwork opportunities the company offered. She often works with Julie Rodgers.

"She's the thinker and I"m the doer," Marleen grins. Actually they both share the load and their achievements are obvious with the sales board in their office covered in their names.
Marleen was runner up Rookie of the Year in her first year on the job. She's been in the million dollar club for selling $1mil worth of property in a month, achieved the top 10 per cent in units (listings and sales equate to half a unit each) and has been the fifth top agent in New Zealand for getting exclusive listings.

"I'm an achiever," Marleen says. "I don"t sit around and wait for business to come. I'm motivated and I excel at everything I do."
