Having lived and owned homes in Johnsonville for fifteen years, and worked in the Northern Suburbs for over nineteen years with twelve years working as a sales consultant for First National, I would definitely call myself a local. Over this time I have built up an excellent base of local knowledge not only of the properties, but also of the people who live, work and operate their businesses in this area.

Early Years

I am the oldest of four children and lived in Wadestown for all of my early years. I attended Wadestown School followed by higher school education at Wellington College. In 1992, I graduated Victoria University with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration. My double major of Marketing and Management provided me with the theoretical foundation for successful selling in today’s market. After this, I spent some years helping to manage a retail business in Johnsonville where I was able to develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to run a business and to sell and negotiate successfully.

I have had excellent success within the First National network reaching award level status in my first full year and steadily progressing upwards with each year after. I have now achieved Diamond Status putting me in the top few percent of consultants working for First National within the 100 plus offices in New Zealand.

I currently live in Johnsonville in a 1960’s home which I have fully renovated. Prior to that I lived in Churton Park. I have been happily married for 14 years and have a seven year old boy and a four year old girl who both keep me very busy in my spare time.

Experience Counts!

Early on in my Real Estate career, I saw the benefits of property investment and purchased my first rental property in Newlands which I still own. In the ensuing eight years my wife and I have bought, owned, and sold a number of properties giving me fresh first hand experience of the home buying, selling, renovating,  and renting process from all sides.

Keeping Active

I have always been actively involved in sports with my early years been taken up with soccer, cricket, and tennis. From my late teens I have enjoyed regular squash playing and outdoor pursuits such as surfing. Most recently I signed up at the local gym and took up biking. Two highlights in recent years were taking part in the “Day Night Thriller” – a 12 hour mountain biking event at Spa Park in Taupo and completing my first 160km Lake Taupo cycle circuit. Both events were a lot of fun and really pushed my personal boundaries. I am an active member of City Fitness, the local gym in Johnsonville and instruct group power fitness classes a couple times a week which is pushes my personal boundaries but is great fun.

The Web Works

In the last decade a major change has taken place in the way buyers search for property. The use of the Internet in the house buying process has quickly caught up with and superseded the use of print media. I have spent time upskilling myself over the previous year to get myself into a position of knowledge and skill in Internet Marketing with an emphasis on blogging, social media networking and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). This I firmly believe has given me and will continue to give me an edge when it comes to the marketing and successful sale of homes in Wellington.

Property and People

I have an easy going nature and am not a fan of high pressure sales tactics. In Real estate, I have a people focus. As an extrovert, I love being in a job that allows me to meet new people and allows me to help people attain their dreams. It is important to me that clients of mine have a good buying or selling experience so I seek to reduce the stress of buying and selling and inject a bit of fun into the process.

I have always had a long-term approach to real estate - if I do a good job the first time, people will want to deal with me again. Consequently, most of my current business is now being conducted with people I have served previously or friends and family of previous clients that I have been referred to. I believe in doing my absolute best in whatever I undertake, and it is important to me to be part of a team, all working together to achieve the high level of excellence in service that Guardian First National is renowned for.
