Tawhero Forest, is located at the end of Waitawhiti Road in the northern Wairarapa region and is a sizable, easy contour forest with a title area of 774.8 hectares.

The forest is registered in the Emissions Trading Scheme and is a mixture of Pinus Radiata registered under Stock Change and Permanent Post 89 Native plantings.

There are 583 hectares of mostly 2009 planted Pinus Radiata registered in the ETS which are showing some of the highest growth rates you will see in NZ, with an average annual sequestration of over 52 tons per hectare. Additionally, there are 61 hectares of native that is presently being registered in the Permanent Post 89 category.

The easy contour along with the location of the forest mean it is a low-risk proposition with exceptionally high projected cashflows going forward.
