Kava Classic produces two core product formats: a traditional kava powder and an instant kava product manufactured using advanced technology. Products are sold as sealed powders and, in the case of instant kava, in tea-bag format.

The business is one of very few operators in Australasia utilising freeze-drying for kava and has exclusive access to proprietary technology owned by a related entity. This process delivers improved solubility, consistency, and product stability, enabling formats not achievable through conventional kava processing.

Kava Classic is currently progressing retail discussions with NZ grocery, liquor, and convenience groups, positioning the brand for near-term domestic rollout.

The company is now seeking a strategic shareholder to acquire a 25% equity stake, with an investment of NZD 1.0 million for shares and a further NZD 500,000 in working capital. Final structure will be influenced by the incoming partner’s manufacturing capability, technical expertise, and ability to support commercial scale-up.

A key development focus is a bottled, low-flavour kava beverage range, enabled by a proprietary purification and filtration technique integrated into the process. This reduces the traditional kava flavour profile and opens the pathway to mainstream beverage formats.

The ideal partner is an established beverage company (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) with experience in large-scale manufacturing, distribution, and regulatory navigation. While NZ serves as a controlled launch and validation market, the primary growth objective is entry into the US and other regions, where the category-scale opportunity is larger.
