Heaven in Heartland Central Otago

It's a little taste of heaven in heartland Central Otago - perfectly positioned to take in the pristine plains, snow-capped Kakanui’s, and big, beautiful skies. A perfect place to ‘get away from it all’ but still live a luxurious lifestyle.
Kokonga Lodge - 123km from Dunedin - 189km from Queenstown - is arguably the jewel in Maniototo’s crown. A jewel that really could be anything you want it to be.
Set on more than 4 hectares, right beside the Otago Central Rail Trail, Kokonga boasts a number of outstanding buildings - mainly accommodation that could be for the night, or for the rest of your life.
The impressive lodge, which hugs an attractive 16 metre infinity pool, boasts six bedrooms - all with their own bathrooms - as well as a designer kitchen, open-plan dining-lounge and a second living room. Outside, by the pool, if it wasn’t for the iconic Central Otago views, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in Bali or Hawaii.
A short stroll through the gorgeous lawns and garden will take you to a delightful near new self-contained two bedroom cottage - featuring open plan kitchen, dining, living complete with an open fire and outside decking.
The old Kokonga School building, which has recently been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard, is now a one-bedroom one-bathroom “Owners residence”. The ‘classroom’, which continues Kokonga’s open-plan theme comes with a log burner for winter and great indoor-outdoor flow and decking for the warmer seasons. The mountain views from the large arched window in the modern kitchen are breathtaking.
The final piece of this entertainers dream puzzle is the ‘Woolshed Bar and Brewery’ - which could easily be the backdrop for an upcoming Speight’s ad - as well as a great place to park up for the night after a long day on the trail.
Kokonga Lodge - this glorious oasis where no expense has been spared - is currently being run as a boutique bed and breakfast, but with its nine bedrooms over three buildings, it really could be anything you want it to be.
