Way back in 2009, fresh ‘off the boat’ from the UK, I embarked on the voyage to put down my roots.
I was told (at the time) by an agent that “Fordyce Road is a good postcode”. I put this comment to the back of my mind until I purchased and resided there - for many contented and very happy years.

On Fordyce Road, we once detested the rough metal road. Now recently remedied. (See photo of drive and road). The added layers of due diligence information, such as the Auckland Council flood viewer, have driven risk aversion for buyers now seeking an elevated platform to build or reside. Since 2009, motorway networks and arterial routes have become reality making the journey to all points of the compass much much easier.
And the dream of owning a rare corner of New Zealand that is visually beautiful, a compelling location, private, uncompromised and individual, is a hard dream to discover. Until now.
