48 Bedlington Street, Whau Valley, Whangarei

35.4 ha Farmlet - Kensington, Whangarei.

Hidden in plain sight within Kensington - just 3.7 km from the Town Basin and 5 km from Whangarei Base Hospital - lies one of the most extraordinary landholdings ever to come to market. Owned by the Wakelin family for over 100 years, this 35.4 ha farmlet carries a legacy stretching back to the 1850s, when Thomas Wakelin helped shape Northland's early livestock industry and established Kamo's first sale yards and hotel.

This is the last large central blocks still in original family ownership - an irreplaceable piece of Whangarei's rural heritage.

Beautiful stands of mature native bush, a stunning rock-bottom river wrapping around much of the property, and dramatic volcanic rock formations create natural viewing points and unmatched scenery. It's a landscape that feels private, peaceful, and utterly unique for a location this central.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home sits comfortably among rolling paddocks and elevated views, offering relaxed, sun-filled living.

Whether viewed as a rare land-banking opportunity or the ultimate retirement block for a farmer moving to town, this property stands alone. Scale, history, natural beauty, and convenience - an unbeatable combination.

A once-in-a-generation holding, ready for its next chapter.
