Blackball, an historic town has a general store, which also serves excellent fish and chips from Friday to Sunday evenings. There are several good places to eat in Blackball, including the Blackball Inn (formerly the Hilton Hotel), takeaway options from the Blackball Store (Friday to Sunday until 7pm), and the Blackball Salami Factory, known for its delicious salami and sausages. Greymouth approximately 30 minutes away and Reefton approximately 40 minutes.
