5 Yarborough Street, Kohukohu, Far North

Wake up to birdsong and take in the sunrise and moonrise across the Hokianga from this elevated, board and batten home on the edge of historic Kohukohu village. With wide harbour views and a calm, natural setting, this multi-level property offers a lifestyle that feels both peaceful and connected.

Set in park-like grounds, the home is surrounded by established fruit trees and framed by mature native bush. The result is genuine privacy, space and quiet. The layout includes three bedrooms, two of which feature mezzanine sleeping platforms that give extra flexibility and character. There is also a loft area that can be used as an office, study or convenient storage.

The home has been thoughtfully cared for. A new roof was installed three years ago, providing confidence and long-term security for the next owner. The carpet has been upgraded, and all interior and exterior doors are recycled timber, adding warmth and authenticity. The kitchen and bathroom feature kauri elements that speak to the history of the region and the craftsmanship of an earlier era.

Life here is shaped by the harbour. Whether you enjoy kayaking, fishing or simply watching the tidal movement across the water, the Hokianga offers something new to admire every day. Kohukohu is known for its strong sense of community and friendly atmosphere, making it easy to feel at home from the moment you arrive.

This property offers a rare combination of views, privacy, character and a relaxed coastal lifestyle in one of the Far North’s most welcoming areas. It is a place to slow down, enjoy nature and connect with a community that values its history and its people.
