Our family home was built by us in 2022, a real labour of love.
Set in a peaceful green location, on an old orchard near Kerikeri town, it has established fruit trees and gardens.
We are going away to see family in South America in August 2026. At this point it will be a 6 month lease but quite possibly extend to up to 12 months. We are ideally looking for reliable and trustworthy tenants to look after and enjoy our property. It would be perfect for someone who loves outdoors and gardening.
The layout of this house is open plan and very spacious. The living room, kitchen and dining are all in the centre, with master bedroom and ensuite to the east, and kids playroom, bedroom 2 and 3, and the main bathroom to the west. The big ranch sliders in the main living room open out to an amazing green view, over a valley to the North East, overlooking the Waitangi forest.
The house contains nice modern features, polished concrete floor, ply ceiling, and beautiful Japanese Cedar Kitchen joinery. Furnishing consists of mid-century items giving it a bohemian feel that we love. House plants throughout add to this feeling, and the whole openness, natural light and airflow throughout the house gives it a truely warm and welcoming feeling.
The location is great, just 4 minute drive or 30 minute walk to the centre of Kerikeri town with shops, schools and supermarkets. Near by are beautiful walks along rivers in the bush, and historic sites like the Stone Store. The garden is lush and green and the air is clean!
Winter in this house is very comfortable with a modern wood burner that heats the entire house. (Should be enough wood to get through the winter). The concrete floor soaks up sun throughout the day and releases it over night to keep the house comfortable. Joinery is all double glazed and there are no draughts. There is great airflow and I did not notice mould anywhere at all last winter. This is a healthy family home that we love, and we love others to enjoy it too.
