Hidden down a long driveway, surrounded by beautiful gardens and against the backdrop of Pihanga, this distinctive Turangi home comes to market for the first time in 35 years.

Built in the 1960s as the home of an Italian tunnelling director working on the Tongariro Power Scheme, the home holds a special place in the areas history. Its unique Italian design, grand entrances and parquet floors bring a sense of elegance and character rarely found today.

Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two generous living areas and a spacious kitchen provide plenty of room for family life, visiting friends and relaxing after a day outdoors. The expansive outdoor area provides an idyllic setting for entertaining, long summer lunches and family gatherings, with plenty of space for children to play among the established gardens.

For keen anglers, the location is something special. A five-minute walk takes you to the famous Tongariro River and the much-loved Island and Major Jones pools. The nearby Tongariro River Trail offers opportunities for walking and cycling, making it easy to enjoy this remarkable setting year-round.

Lake Taupo is approximately ten minutes away, while the ski field is around a forty-minute drive - placing fishing, lake adventures and days on the mountain within easy reach.

Whether you are seeking a character-filled family home, a relaxing holiday retreat or a treasured base for fishing weekends, this historic property offers something truly distinctive.

After 35 years with one family, it is ready for its next chapter. A home with this history, setting and character may not come along again.
