577 State Highway 5, Bay View, Napier City

Herepoho Homestead, a celebrated landmark property once part of Hedgeley Station offers exceptional lifestyle living, with expansive ground within easy reach of Napier City. Mature trees and pastures create a serene rural environment. Set on over eight hectares in the heart of Eskdale, this outstanding property blends timeless character with modern comfort, with wonderful recreational features making everyday living feel extraordinary.

Built in 1923 in a traditional bungalow style, the home has been meticulously maintained and thoughtfully enhanced over time. Its original charm is immediately evident, with Matai flooring, striking Rimu beamed ceilings, finely crafted interior trim and built in wardrobes all contributing to a warm and inviting atmosphere. Elegant décor and artwork complement the home’s heritage features, resulting in interiors that feel both refined and deeply comfortable.

The largely original floor plan has been sympathetically improved, including an extended kitchen creating a seamless balance between formal and casual living spaces. The home is perfectly suited to relaxed family living yet equally capable of hosting larger gatherings with ease.

Significant upgrades ensure modern comfort throughout the seasons. These include a four-car basement garage, an additional bathroom, a fully renovated country style kitchen, covered outdoor dining, radiator heating, and upgraded insulation. Beyond the home itself, lifestyle amenities elevate the offering further: a large in ground pool and a full-sized Astro tennis court provide exceptional recreational options.

Accommodation is generous, with the master suite offering impressive space and a beautiful rural outlook. Additional bedrooms are all well-proportioned, providing flexibility for families, guests or extended living arrangements. A recently built outbuilding serves as a dedicated office, complemented by shedding suitable for vehicles, machinery or equipment.

Herepoho Homestead represents a rare chance to secure a distinguished Hawke’s Bay residence - rich in history, beautifully maintained and offering an exceptional lifestyle in one of the region’s most picturesque rural settings.
