Q: What made you fall in love with this property in the first place?

• We picked this section for the position, the shelter, and of course the stunning views. We love looking out towards the mountains and the big Central Otago skies. The hillside and trees to the West also make it feel sheltered and private.

Q: What's your favourite thing about living here?

• The light and the sun. The living room gets so much sun, and it's a warm, comfortable space that connects nicely with the outdoors. Also, friendly community.

Q: How do you make the most of the outdoor spaces?

• Both decks get plenty of use. The east deck is great for morning coffee and watching the neighbourhood wake up, while the west deck is perfect for summer afternoons and entertaining. In winter, we tend to gather around the dining room.

Q: Any clever features that make everyday life easier?

• The kitchen is a real highlight. It's a great size. We love the window that opens to the barbecue area, making it easy to pass food through and keep an eye on the kids outside. Plus, the versatile sink. There's also plenty of storage, including above the garage and under the living room bench seats.

Q: Tell us about the garden.

• We've put a lot of work into the landscaping, vegetable beds, and herb garden. The backyard is rabbit-proofed, which helps when you're growing your own lettuce! There's still room to make it your own, and we've even had wiring installed for a future spa outside the main bedroom.

Q: What's the neighbourhood like?

• That's one of the things we'll really miss. People are friendly, and there's a genuine sense of community. We love sitting on the deck, watching our kids ride their scooters and bikes up the street while catching up with the neighbours. It has that relaxed, village feel, with a bit more space around you. The water race is another favourite - you can feel a world away in just under five minutes.

Q: What do you hope the next owners will love most?

• How easy the home is to live in. It's warm, light and practical, with spaces to enjoy throughout the seasons. It's just as good for a quiet day at home as it is for having friends and family around.
