343-359 Waipiata Kyeburn Road, Kyeburn, Central Otago

This 472 hectare property comprises two neighbouring blocks that have been effectively amalgamated into a versatile, irrigated unit with a full array of improvements. There are three dwellings on the property: a four-bedroom home, a two-bedroom dwelling, and a fully self-contained staff quarters. Farm infrastructure includes a four-stand woolshed with covered sheep yards and two sets of cattle yards. Along with a full array of farm buildings including stables, implement sheds and hay sheds. The farm is well subdivided into approximately 67 paddocks, fenced with permanent fencing and hotwire across much of the property. The contour is largely flat, with heavier river flat soils giving way to lighter soils on the slightly elevated terrace.
The property benefits from two water takes providing irrigation, stock, and domestic water through shares held in Kyeburn Catchment. Irrigation is via a centre pivot covering around 130 hectares, supported by two RotoRainer’s and K-Line irrigators that service an additional 100 hectares. There will be 10 hectares of kale sown for wintering, and the farm benefits from ongoing regrassing and fertiliser program that maintains productivity and supports efficient grazing management. Overall, this is an appealing property situated in a relatively low-lying area of the Maniototo. Its free draining soils, irrigation, farm infrastructure, subdivision and housing provide a versatile property allowing it to support a range of grazing or finishing operations.
