Howard Head Farm is a large and spectacular property in the St Arnaud area of the Tasman District, bounded on three sides by Nelson Lakes National Park.
At 1,053 hectares (2,600 acres), this farm sits within one of the region's most stunning landscapes, framed by the breathtaking backdrop of Robert Ridge and Mount Angelus.
With over 580 hectares in farmland, 26 hectares in forestry, and the balance in native bush and stream margins, Howard Head has earned a strong reputation as a well-managed and productive farming operation.
Under a previous owner, the property won numerous Romney ewe hogget awards, and the quality and productivity of the stock continue to reflect excellent farming practice. Howard Head comprises a well-balanced mix of sheep, beef, and deer, grazed on well-developed pasture and conservatively assessed at 4,000 plus stock units.
The current owners have renovated the three-bedroom homestead to maximise the outstanding mountain views from its elevated site. A second dwelling provides staff accommodation, and extensive sheep and deer handling facilities are complemented by a good range of farm buildings and a well-established network of farm tracks.
The balance of flats, terraces, and hill country provides ample land to produce supplements, along with the scale required to farm efficiently in this relatively remote location.
Inspection will not disappoint.
