Preet’s professional journey is both diverse and grounded. He is an IT graduate from AUT University, holding a triple major in Networks, IT Service Science, and IT Security. His early career included roles as a Business Analyst, IT Project Manager, and a brief but formative period serving in the New Zealand Army. These experiences sharpened his analytical thinking, leadership, and discipline.

Seeking a greater challenge, Preet transitioned into hospitality, where he truly found his stride. From 2017 to early 2025, he owned and operated The Albany, believed to be the second-oldest pub in New Zealand, successfully steering it through years of growth and change while during one of the biggest economic down turns New Zealand had seen – the Covid Pandemic. He now manages the family-owned Hamilton Gardens Café, remaining deeply connected to the realities of day-to-day business operations.

Specialising in hospitality and retail businesses, Preet combines hands-on ownership experience with clear communication and strong commercial judgement. He understands the pressures, risks, and rewards of business ownership because he’s lived them himself.

Outside of work, Preet enjoys hiking, playing golf, watching great films, and spending quality time with family.
