With nearly three decades in rural real estate across theManawatū-Whanganui region and more than 44 years of farming experience in the Taihape district, Pete is widely regarded as one of BayleysManawatū-Whanganui’s most experienced and respected rural property specialists.
Pete’s connection to rural property began long before realestate, grounded in hands-on farming. His daily involvement in farm lifeprovided a practical, lived understanding of the challenges and opportunitiesfaced by farmers and rural landowners.
That foundation naturally developed into a deeper interestinto the buying and selling of farms. After leasing for many years, Pete andhis wife Sally purchased their first farm, "Te Rangiura" 32 yearsago, and since then have significantly developed and added to the propertyalongside a full-time career in rural real estate. He holds a Bachelor ofAgricultural Science (soils and valuation) and a Diploma in Real Estate, withthis combination of qualifications and experience underpinning a strongunderstanding of the operational, environmental and financial drivers of ruralland value.
A former Director and Principal of Bayleys Ruapehu,Whanganui, Manawatū and Wairarapa, Pete played an instrumental role inestablishing and growing Bayleys’ presence throughout the lower North Island.Today, he focuses on what he enjoys most, working directly alongside ruralproperty owners across the Manawatū-Whanganui region, with a key focus on theRangitīkei and Ruapehu districts.

Throughout his career, Pete has successfully marketed andsold a wide range of rural properties including dairy farms, sheep and beeffarms, deer farms, mānuka and forestry blocks, carbon forestry land, andlifestyle properties. His experience spans from small lifestyle holdingsthrough to some of New Zealand’s most significant farming assets, with oneproperty exceeding 13,800 hectares! He has been entrusted with the marketingand sale of many of the most notable rural properties across the Rangitīkei,Ruapehu and wider central North Island regions, including Otiwhiti Station,Kaiangaroa Station, Mangaohane Station, Tanupara Station and the iconicLochinver Station. These transactions include multiple record-setting ruralproperty sales and have contributed to Pete’s reputation as a leading ruralproperty specialist in the region.
Over his career, Pete has sold close to $500 million worthof rural property and is consistently recognised as a high-performing Bayleysrural real estate agent at a national level. His achievements include receivingthe Bayleys Country Marketing Award on two occasions, recognition throughBayleys’ Top Achiever programmes, and consistent placement among Bayleys’top-performing salespeople nationwide. At a regional level, he has also beenrecognised as the top salesperson across the Bayleys Manawatū-Whanganui region,top Country salesperson in the region, and the top-performing salesperson inthe Ohakune office, reinforcing his position as a leading rural propertyspecialist across the lower North Island.

Outside of real estate, Pete remains closely connected tothe rural community. Together with his wife Sally, he farms deer and cattlenear Taihape and has spent many years contributing to local schools, sportingorganisations and community initiatives across the region. A passionate rugbysupporter, Pete represented New Zealand Universities and Whanganui during hisplaying career and later contributed through coaching and administration.Family, farming and fishing remain central to his life.
