Matt is one of the Mounts most successful agents, currently taking out the top spot at homes.co.nz with over $140m of sales in the past 24 months.  His success comes from having a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of property which when combined with his warm, sincere and direct approach gets outstanding results time after time, without ever being pushy. He absolutely knows his stuff and is a breath of fresh air in real estate.  Spanning three decades Matt’s experience in property includes listing and selling hundreds of properties, property investment and development, renovations, holiday home management and of course establishing Powers Realty Group which under his and Sandra’s leadership quickly grew to become a market leader in real estate locally. In 2021 Powers Realty was named the 10th fastest growing company in New Zealand, across all industries, in the prestigious Deloitte Fast50 Awards. Matt regularly achieves record results for his vendors, recent examples being sales of over $7m and $5m respectively for two residential development sites. He is however happy to market properties across all price ranges, offering the same level of service and achieving excellent results at all levels.  He takes the time to get to know his vendors, building rapport and understanding their needs. He believes in tailoring a bespoke approach that will best suit each client and property, not a one size fits all! In his spare time Matt loves taking his dog Roxy for a walk on the beach, walking up the Mount, pottering in the garden and socialising with friends. He is very proud of his three sons who all attended Mount College, and enjoys giving back to the school through Powers main sponsorship of Mount College’s elite sports programme. Matt has a Bachelor of Management degree in Marketing, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, is a licenced real estate agent and a Director and joint owner of Powers Realty Group.
