Educated in Christchurch, BA degree in English & Economics, Certificate in Real Estate & REINZ Business Broker Accreditation 1999, Diploma in Real Estate & Associate Member of the Real Estate Institute in 2003. Upon leaving university, David commenced his career as an executive trainee for a substantial clothing manufacturer before joining the Christchurch based family business Sedley Wells, a multi-branch company retailing home appliances, pianos and musical instruments. The business expanded rapidly to encompass an import and wholesale company, a cabinet factory, a manufacturing company and a finance company.After 17 years the group was eventually sold and David left to establish his own import and wholesale business. After developing and expanding this business and subsequently on-selling it, David decided to utilise his extensive knowledge and experience to become a business consultant and finance broker, prior to joining Harcourts as a Business Broker in 1993.Now, after 25 years and over 500 completed business sale transactions, the combination of experience and qualifications place him in a unique position to act as a professional and successful Business Broker. A significant proportion of clients and businesses which he handles today are either repeat or referral. David has ranked nationally as one of the top NAI Harcourts business Brokers for many years. The Brokers Team led by David were judged top NAI Harcourts National Business or Commercial Office in 2012, plus REINZ runner-up National Business Broker Agency of the Year, 2011/2012, 2012/2013, 2013/2014.
