My rural career started in Canterbury where my family has farmed for several generations. After leaving secondary school I attended Flock House Farm Training College in the Manawatu and gained a Certificate in Agriculture, then returned to Canterbury to gain more experience in sheep, beef, deer, arable and farm forestry on several different properties.
I have travelled extensively overseas and spent several years working in the agricultural sectors of Western Australia, England and Scotland, before returning to New Zealand to complete a Diploma in Horticulture at Massey University. I then spent a number of years as a farm forestry/environmental consultant and contractor, and then spent time as a District Manager for Livestock Improvement Corporation in the Whakatane area before I started my real estate career in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, then transferring to the Waihi area to continue with real estate approximately five years ago.
I am a director/shareholder of a forestry investment company which enables me to have a good working knowledge of the Carbon Credit issues facing land owners. I own a lifestyle block between Katikati and Waihi and enjoy riding & breeding Anglo Arab horses in my spare time.
