85696 State Highway 2, Mount Bruce, Masterton

This unique 265 hectare organically farmed Wairarapa property is located at Mt Bruce, 3km south of Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre and offers a number of recreational, conservation and business opportunities. Conservationists will love the native bush, birdlife and fresh mountain water in creeks and streams. If you’re a hunter, you’ll find Tararua Forest Park next door on your western boundary, providing a plentiful supply of deer and pigs. A key source of income is the production of high MGO Mānuka honey from around 230ha of Mānuka cover on the hills. There are 22 levelled hive sites all connected by good access tracks for 4WD utes and trucks. While not currently registered in the Emissions Trading Scheme, the opportunity exists to register the farm to earn NZU’s annually. Being located around 120km from Wellington and 70km from Palmerston North, the property will appeal as an eco-tourism and hunting destination utilising the tidy 3-bedroom house or set up new glamping spots. The views are breathtaking! For the farmer or lifestyler, the front 30ha or so offers summer-safe livestock grazing, supported by essential infrastructure - woolshed, sheep yards, cattle yards and an implement shed complete the package. The 1950s 3-bedroom house is basic, but offers good accommodation for weekends or permanent stays.
Overall, this 265.98ha property is very well located in northern Wairarapa and offers a range of business and lifestyle opportunities for people with vision and energy.
