realestate.co.nz's price estimate

Find a price estimate for almost every property listed on realestate.co.nz - whether it's currently for sale or not.

realestate.co.nz's unique price estimate is the most accurate in the market as it uses the latest sales data provided by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ), including sales that haven't officially settled.

Can't find the price estimate on a property?

The price estimate is a computer-generated model and can't always account for a property's unique features and attributes. In this case, the owner or real estate agent can request for the estimate to be removed. Please contact the agent directly for a price guide if it's not available on the site. If it's a sold property, get in touch with us.

You'll also find the Capital Value (CV) alongside the realestate.co.nz estimation on all properties listed for sale and sold. The CV is a council provided valuation for the property on a given date.

Comparable sale prices

In real estate, the market ultimately sets the value. One of the best ways to find out the value of your home, or a home you're interested in, is to look at recent comparable sales.

On realestate.co.nz we make this easy with a section dedicated to sales. Visit our Sold section to browse all properties that have been listed for sale on our site and sold.

Top tip: If the sale price isn't available on a property yet - save it, and we'll send you an email as soon as the price becomes available.

Market Insights

Check out our Market Insight tool for price trends for every suburb in New Zealand.

Market Insights offer a suburb-level view of:

  • Prices: Median sale, asking and rental prices
  • How fast properties are moving: Median days on site, days to sell and days to rent
  • Property supply: How many homes are currently listed for sale or rent, and how many have recently sold
  • The most popular property types - for sale and for rent

It's a valuable resource for understanding how your local market is tracking.

Get a free appraisal from a local agent

Use the Agent search tool to connect with real estate agents in your area.

You can request a free, no-obligation appraisal, which includes

  • A tailored price estimate considering your property's condition, location, and unique features.
  • Local sales insights and current buyer demand.

This is especially helpful if you're thinking of selling or want advice specific to your home.
